News: October 27th, 2006
Another thriller chapter in the short BFL history was recorded as the two teams struggled to a 14-14 tie, the unprecedented second of the season. Behind the sloppy play of the offenses, Notes running backs Phil Beig and Brian Bostwick each managed to score off pass and runs, respecively. Down 14-0, the Titans's offense finally found enough life for Quarterback Max Gillman hit wide reciever Greg Cole on a 75 yard and a 41 yard touchdown pass to knot the game at 14 all. The Notes quarterback Sean Donaghy was sacked on fourth down by Sam Kountz and Andrew Mushnick to perserve the tie for the two teams, after Mushnicks fumble for a touchdown was reversed by unanimous ruling.

The teams will be resting up, as next week is the BFL bye week. The next game will be held on November 3rd or 4th.
News: October 15th, 2006
In the third league match of the season, the Teen Titans collected a BFL-record 9 turnovers (7 interceptions, 2 fumbles) en route to a convincing 49-28 victory that knotted up the league standings. Both teams now stand at 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 tie. The Titans were outstanding on defense, with DB Andrew Mushnick collecting 3 interceptions and OLB Max Gillman also picking off 3 passes. The Titans defense also registered 4 sacks, and DT Sam Kountz tipped a pass to himself for an interception and chugged 40 yards for a touchdown. Offensively, the Titans were led by QB Max Gillman, who was 13-16 for 200+ yards and 4 touchdowns with 1 interception. WR Matt Helm had 65 yards on 2 catches, both for TDs. Ryan Donaghy and WR Andrew Mushnick also added TD catches for the Titans. Sam Kountz also played quarterback for one drive and tossed a 49-yarder to RB Andrew Hollinger.

The Dropped Notes, although losing the game, played a great hard hitting game despite being down early. Down 21-0 in the 'second' quarter, a 41 yard interception return by Sean Donaghy aka "Shuanagy", and a 35 yard offensive fumble return by OLB Matt Block pulled the Notes within one TD. Donaghy added another rushing score to pull the Notes within a touchdown again, after the Titans were up 28-14. Notes star RB Phil Beig was held to 60 yards on the ground and no touchdowns, but the Junior phenom supplimented his fantasy value nicely when he heaved a perfectly thrown ball to Ben Holloway in the end zone for a Notes touchdown on the game's final drive. On defense, the Notes had nice proformances from Beig and DE Brian Bostwick, who each recorded 2 sacks and a forced fumble. Shaunagy recorded an interception (as stated before), Matt Block had 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery, and Perry Xu had 1 sack.

The Notes look to rebound on Friday the 20th's game. BOTH teams will be holding practice at 3:00 sharp to discuss selected matters. Kickoff is at 5 PM.

Please contract maxgillman@comcast.net if you were left off the stat list or have a key stat that was not recorded. Thank you.

News: October 6th, 2006
A game of epic proportions lived up to the hype on Friday, when the BFL continued its season of suprises on a wet and muddy October 6th afternoon. Playing to the final 'gun,' the Teen Titans tied the Dropped Notes 28-28 after an intense 2 possession overtime in which no winner was decided. The Titans were led by junior running back Andrew Hollinger, who tallied 171 yards on 11 attempts and two touchdowns, including an 79-yard slasher that tied the game at its final score. Quarterback Max Gillman was 10-for-16 passing with 128 yards through the air and one touchdown with no interceptions. He also chalked a key interception. The Titans also had great games from Matt Bracciantte (4 catches, 1 interception) and Cyrus Kapadia (2 TDs, 1 rushing 1 recieving.)
Not to be outdone, the Dropped Notes also had many excellent individual performances, highlighted by Brian Bostwick's 3 touchdowns (1 rushing, 2 recieving). Bostwick showed the knack for the big play with his 58 yard TD romp and his spectacular double coverage grab of a Sean Donaghy pass for a touchdown and an early Note's lead. Matt Block, who turned in another fine day as the Notes lead signal caller, also added another rushing TD late in the game. Phil Bieg offered 46 yards rushing and great field positions for his team with his kickoff returns. Check out the stats page to see a box score of this game to see how it played out.
The Dropped Notes stay undefeated with a record of 1-0-1
The Teen Titans hope to grab their first seasonal win with a current record of 0-1-1
The BFL returns to action next week with another exciting game!!! Check back here often to see when the next game is scheduled.

News: October 4th, 2006
Two things: First of all, a game will be held in head to head format at the high school on Friday, October 6th. Report time is 4:15 BY THE BAND ROOM. Second of all, a rule change has been made from full out contact tackle to rough stoppage. This rule means that a player is down when his forward progress has been halted. Please contact a league moderator if you have any questions regarding any of these matters.

Let's have a safe game, when don't want anyone else getting injured. Play hard, have fun, win big!!!!!!

Also, the rosters have been updated.
News: September 30th, 2006
The Dropped Notes downed the Teen Titans by a score of 35-14 in the first regular season game of 2006. The Notes' Brian Bostwick scored three touchdowns while Phil Beig added another as the Notes used a bruising ground attack to cruise to victory. Props to the Titans as they played a hard fought and phyical game led by outstanding OL/TE Ryan Donaghy who scored the Titans' two touchdowns on pass receptions from Sam Kountz. News: September 29th, 2006
The first ever BFL game was played. In a preseason scrimmage that contained a light informative session before the game, the teams participated in a hard hitting game that played highlight to a vareitiy of defensive play when both of the offenses sputtered early in the game. Fumble recoveries by both teams led to scores, but the Teen Titans broke the deadlock with a Ryan Donaghy run to put the Titans ahead 14-7. They never looked back, putting the Dropped Notes into a large fourth quarter hole with a barrage of touchdowns. However, the 42-23 Teens Titans margin of victory was not as lopsided as it seems: A great team effort and some excellent individual performances by both the Notes' offense and defense led to piles of yardage totaling nearly 550 (calculated in field size ratios) total yards. The Titans and the Notes used many big plays on both sides of the ball, despite the confusion created by an inexpierence with the specific league rules.

Both teams now know exactly what they have to do to take their team to the top!!! The first game of the regular season will be played sometime in the days of the week Sept. 30th - Oct.6th. Keep posted for updates, pics, stats, and GAME TIMES!!!!!
